Chinese Grand Prix 2011

The Formula One season has begun with mixed fortunes for the British McLaren team.

Red Bull’s Sebastien Vettel looks pretty darn fast and has won the opening two races with some class - most recently this weekend just gone in Malaysia’s capital city of Kuala Lumpur.

In that race, Lewis Hamilton was penalised for clashing with Ferrari’s main man Fernando Alonso and had to settle for a disappointing 8th place, but Jenson Button drove expertly to claim his first podium finish in 2nd place.

This coming weekend it’s off to China’s largest city of Shanghai for the 3rd race of the season where McLaren will be keen to ensure a decent grid start for Sunday's race.

Button’s shortcomings last year stemmed largely from a series of underwhelming qualifying performances so Saturday may well prove to be a crucial day in establishing some level of authority on the track.

Known for its long strait and series of sharp, challenging bends, the China track usually throws up an interesting and engaging race. Tickets are still available via the F1 website and flights and hotels are available with Destinology, so why not give us a call?
