Something you didn't know about Dubai...

Dubai ZooDubai Zoo

Although it has become a holiday hotspot and popular with families, couples and businessmen alike not many people realise that Dubai also has its very own Zoo!

That’s right, as if there’s not enough amazing attractions to suit every taste already you can also visit Dubai zoo to experience some unique Arabian animal species and birds of prey.

In fact, the Dubai Zoo is the oldest Zoo in the UAE, first opening in the early 1970’s and has since undergone many redevelopment and renovation phases allowing it to remain one of the most popular attractions for tourists and locals.

The zoo is located in the green suburb of Jumeirah, close to the exclusive BiCE Italian restaurant and the American School of Dubai.

If you choose to stay at hotels such as the Fairmont Dubai you’re within easy reach of the zoo... simply ask your hotel concierge to arrange tickets and transport.

Also, Destinology recommends The Address Downtown Dubai, a lavish award winning hotel in the heart of downtown Dubai and the Armani Hotel. The Giorgio Armani Hotel is a 5 star deluxe property with a range of exclusive Armani suites and facilities such as a private nightclub, spa and a luxury pavilion. Check out the latest Dubai special offers for the best deals.

The zoo offers you the chance to see many indigenous Arabian species that you don’t find here in the UK, such as The Arabian Wolf and Gordon’s Wildcat. Also, don’t miss a unique chance to see the endangered barbary sheep, water buck and the forbidding Siberian and Bengal tigers… not your average family cat!

The Bird of Prey house is also worth a visit. Can you catch a glimpse of a heron, eagle or vulture?

Dubai has numerous attractions to offer for holidays and short city breaks, and plenty more hotels to accommodate your every need too!
