Ibn Battuta V Mall of the Emirates

Mall of the EmiratesIbn Battuta Mall

Continuing my recent shopping theme, I thought I’d scrutinise two more of Dubai’s famous shopping malls.

The Ibn Battuta Mall which is named after the Arab traveller and adventurer is based on his wondrous travels of the globe. The architecture of each of the malls six courts reflects a region of his travels: Andalusia, Tunisia, Egypt, Persia, India and China.

The multi-cultural atmosphere of the mall is spectacular and a visit here is highly recommended. Shopping in the mall is both enjoyable and exciting, within the themed environments.

With over 275 stores and 50 eateries the mall won’t disappoint. Another major feature of the mall is the only IMAX theatre in the UAE – a good way to lure the kids into coming shopping too!

The Mall is in a prime location on Sheikh Zayad Road, just minutes from the Dubai Marina. The Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Hotel is the perfect choice of hotel from which to visit the mall, as well as being ideal for enjoying water sports, fine dining and private beaches. Check out the Destinology special offers page for amazing 3 night deals at The Hilton Dubai Jumeirah.

The Amwaj Rotana is another smart choice for a divine Dubai Break. This 5 star luxury hotel has excellent dining facilities and a sophisticated Wellness Centre, offering many relaxing treatments that can be enjoyed after a day at the mall or beach.

On the other side of the Dubai Marina and The Palm Resort lies the Mall of the Emirates.

This location is in the centre of ‘New Dubai’ close to some of the best Jumeriah hotels in the city. The Madinat Jumeirah Mina A Salam is an authentic Arabian paradise that offers a tranquil stay.

Another hotel choice close to the Mall of the Emirates is the Madinat Jumeirah Al Qasr, one of the newest Madinat Jumeriah properties.

Back to the mall itself: with over 476 retailers offering everything from fashion, sports, electronics and home furnishings you’ll struggle to find a better equipped mall. The leisure facilities at the mall are second to none. Visit the world-renowned Ski Dubai or the 500-seat theatre and arts centre.

Mall of the Emirates is also currently undergoing a huge expansion program that will make it even bigger… threatening to rival its competitors.

As a shopaholic both malls sound blissful to me but as for the best out of the two… I couldn’t possible decide! I’d suggest a visit to Dubai then you can decide for yourself!
