Winners announced for the Luxury Travel Advisor Awards

  • Amanpuri, Phuket
  • St Regis, Bora Bora

Back on November 9th I told you about the upcoming Luxury Travel Advisor Awards, and now the ceremony has taken place and the dust has settled on the trophies, I thought it best to report back on who came out on top.

The first category we reported on was for Best Luxury Hotel in the Caribbean, and this accolade was bestowed upon the fabulous One&Only Ocean Club on Bahamas’ Paradise Island. If you didn’t know, the grounds and suites of this fabulous resort were used during the filming of Casino Royale.  So if it was good enough for James Bond…

The idyllic St Regis Bora Bora enjoyed a wonderful evening, picking up two big awards along the way. Firstly it was voted as Best Luxury Hotel in the South Pacific/Australia and then later also collected the gong for Best Resort Beach Worldwide. Wow!

Triumphing in the Asia category for Best Luxury Hotel was the delightful Amanpuri Resort in Phuket. A big congratulations to them!

Two big Destinology featured resorts that we reported on both came out on top in their respective sections. The Bellagio Las Vegas won Best City Centre Luxury Spa Hotel and Parrot Cay in the Turks & Caicos Islands won Top Villa in a Luxury Resort / Hotel Worldwide for their incredible home from home, The Sanctuary.

Best Luxury Hotel in the Middle East unsurprisingly went to the mesmeric Burj al Arab in Dubai, whilst we are also pleased to report that the gloriously intimate boutique hotel Cape Grace was voted winner of the Best Luxury Hotel for Africa / Indian Ocean

Best Luxury Resort in Mexico / Central / South America went to the amazing One&Only Palmilla Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico whilst Four Seasons collected the accolade for Best Luxury Hotel Group and the Ritz Carlton group won a Top Innovator Award for 2009.

Congratulations to all of the winners and all of the nominees who can all take a great amount of pleasure in their acknowledgement from this key player in the travel industry.
